Commercial Lines Underwriter

Our client is currently seeking a Commercial Lines Property and Casualty Underwriter to add to their dynamic team of insurance professionals. The company provides great benefits and a competitive compensation package.
The successful candidate should have:
- A degree or diploma in a related field is a strong asset
- 3+ years of experience in commercial/property and casualty underwriting
- Proficiency in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office products
- The ability to conduct some travel for work
Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Ensure profitability and growth within an assigned book of business
- Achieve growth objectives through marketing and underwriting activities
- Develop marketing plans that reflect current market conditions
- Seek out new business opportunities
- Meet with agency personnel to develop effective working relationships
- Represent the company at industry events
